Like soil storing life, Mrida keeps what we place within reach. A rack table built around the idea of holding and keeping, its open structure gives everyday objects a place without enclosing them completely. The form treats storage as part of the composition, allowing whatever is placed within it to become part of the object itself.
Each piece is handmade — minor variations in grain, curve, and finish are inherent to the craft and make every piece one of a kind.
Wipe clean with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals. As each piece is handcrafted from natural materials, subtle variations are part of its unique character.

As each piece is made to order, returns and exchanges are not accepted. Please report any damage within 7 days of delivery for proper resolution.

Design Origin Story - MRIDA RACK

We began with the simplest quality of soil: its ability to hold.
Soil does not announce what it carries. It quietly holds roots, seeds, water and everything that allows life to take shape. Mrida takes that idea of quiet storage and translates it into furniture.
Rather than hiding what is kept within it, the rack leaves its contents visible and within reach. The objects placed inside become part of the composition, changing the way the piece looks and feels over time.
Mrida is therefore less about storage as a function and more about giving things a place to belong — allowing the everyday objects around us to become part of the life of the piece.

The Materials
Every material and finish is chosen with intention.
A solid teak top brings warmth and durability to the piece, creating a material contrast against the terracotta body.
The MRID Rack Table is shaped in terracotta, bringing the material’s natural weight and sculptural character into a functional furniture form.
Steel, forms the structural support within Madira, bringing strength and balance to the terracotta form while remaining a subtle part of the object.

Because true sustainability
begins with longevity.
At Chars Diwari, materials are chosen for beauty, durability, and responsibility in equal measure. We work with responsibly sourced teak, and favour natural materials that age gracefully - terracotta, cane, solid teak - valued for their ability to endure decades of everyday living without diminishing. Cane in particular is quick-growing and renewable, harvested without felling. Every piece is made to order in our Jaipur workshop, so nothing is produced to sit in a warehouse.
