Golav is a sculptural corner table built around a quiet interplay of form, material and balance. A solid teak top sits above layered elements of wood and handwoven natural cane sphere, with gilded steel accents connecting each part. CharsDiwari signature sphere forms the visual centre, while the tapered wooden base grounds the composition. Each element remains distinct, yet comes together as one fluid, balanced form.

Each piece is handmade — minor variations in grain, curve, and finish are inherent to the craft and make every piece one of a kind.

Golav began with the idea of giving the humble corner table a presence of its own.
Corner tables are often treated as secondary — useful surfaces that sit quietly beside something larger. Golav began by giving this familiar object a stronger identity.
The form is built from distinct elements: a circular teak top, a handwoven wicker sphere, electro-plated stainless steel connections and a tapered wooden base. Each material retains its own character, while their relationship creates balance and rhythm.
The wicker sphere becomes the visual centre, bringing softness and texture between the warmth of teak and the precision of metal. The layered construction gives Golav a sense of movement while keeping the overall form grounded.
The result is a side table that holds its own within a space, even when it is not in use.

The Material Language
Every material and finish is chosen with intention.
Solid teak forms the body of Golav, chosen for its strength, longevity and ability to be shaped into soft, sculptural forms. The natural grain remains visible, allowing the material to bring warmth and character to the piece.
Handwoven cane is introduced in Golav as a signature CharsDiwari detail, adding material diversity and texture to the product. The natural weave creates a contrast against the solid teak, bringing a lighter, tactile quality to the form.
A natural pigment stain developed in our workshop through repeated trials, rather than a commercial wood polish. It sits in the grain rather than on top of it, so the teak stays visible through the colour.

At Chars Diwari, materials are chosen for beauty, durability, and responsibility in equal measure. We work with responsibly sourced teak, and favour natural materials that age gracefully - terracotta, cane, solid teak - valued for their ability to endure decades of everyday living without diminishing. Cane in particular is quick-growing and renewable, harvested without felling. Every piece is made to order in our Jaipur workshop, so nothing is produced to sit in a warehouse.
