Vishraam is a sculptural bench that pairs deep tufted upholstery with CharsDiwari’s signature wicker sphere legs and refined steel accents. Its generous silhouette is softened by plush cushioning, while the meticulously handcrafted woven spheres anchor the piece with texture, rhythm, and character. Balancing comfort with visual presence, Vishraam transforms seating into an object of quiet luxury and exceptional craftsmanship.
Each piece is handmade — minor variations in grain, curve, and finish are inherent to the craft and make every piece one of a kind.

Design Origin Story — Vishram
A place to gently pause.
Vishraam began with the idea that rest could be given a form of its own.
We wanted Vishraam to feel generous without feeling heavy — a piece that invites you to slow down, settle in and stay for a while.
The deep tufted upholstery gives the bench its softness and comfort, while the handwoven wicker spheres introduce a more tactile, crafted language beneath it. The contrast between the plush seat and the structured base gives the piece its character: soft above, grounded below.
The woven spheres are not simply a detail. They bring rhythm to the base and connect Vishraam to the handcraft that runs through the collection, while the electro-plated stainless steel gives the composition a quiet precision.
Vishraam is designed for the pause between things — the moment when you sit down without needing to go anywhere next.
The Materials
Three materials, each carrying its own history — brought together with intention.
Soft to the touch with a rich, velvety depth, suede velvet brings a sense of warmth and luxury to the object. Its tactile surface catches light differently from every angle, adding depth and richness to the form.
Lightweight, flexible and naturally resilient, cane brings texture and movement to an object. Each piece is handwoven by skilled craftsmen, making the weave an integral part of the design.
Steel, shaped and finished for durability, is treated with either electroplating or powder coating to create a rust-resistant surface. The finish adds longevity while giving the metal its distinctive character.

At Chars Diwari, materials are chosen for beauty, durability, and responsibility in equal measure. We work with responsibly sourced teak, and favour natural materials that age gracefully - terracotta, cane, solid teak - valued for their ability to endure decades of everyday living without diminishing. Cane in particular is quick-growing and renewable, harvested without felling. Every piece is made to order in our Jaipur workshop, so nothing is produced to sit in a warehouse.
