Design origin story

PRAVAH

प्रवाह — pravāh — flow, current

Pravah began with an exploration of movement.

We wanted to create a table that did not feel static, despite being made from solid materials. The question was: what if wood did not have to obey straight lines?

The form developed through curves, flowing edges, and an asymmetrical silhouette. The tabletop was shaped to feel almost like a continuous movement, rather than a fixed surface. Its deep red stain gives the teak a sense of depth and intensity, while the handwoven wicker inset introduces texture and softness into the form.

The base became an important part of creating that sense of movement. Woven wicker spheres and the slender metal leg give the piece rhythm and visual lightness, allowing the heavier wooden top to appear almost as if it is floating.Pravah brings together contrasting materials — solid teak, handwoven wicker, and metal — but allows them to move as one composition.

"The result is a table that feels less like a static object and more like a moment of movement made still."
